Anterior Cervical Spine Surgery is a surgical procedure to correct
compression of a spinal nerve root in the neck causing severe pain radiating
into the arm, neck and/or shoulder blade. There may be associated sensation
of numbness, perhaps even weakness in the arm and hand. The cause of the
compression is often a bulging or herniation of intervertebral disc material
which migrates into the spinal canal, compressing the nerve root.

Cease aspirin, herbal medicines, vitamin A or any anti-inflammatory medications
10 days prior to surgery to prevent bleeding and stop smoking as long as
